Reflecting - How it's done.

View

"Reflecting" or "Self-Reflection" is a necessary process to further develop yourself. It's the ability to mentally review your feelings and thoughts.

It's a great tool that you should use frequently. To reflect efficiently, it's helpful to keep the following aspects in mind:

Time

Take the necessary time for reflecting on things and don't do it in between appointments. For a daily routine, reflecting in bed or on your way to school are great opportunities for reflection.

Stillness

Reflecting is more effective when it's being done in stillness. Use moments when you are by yourself. Breathe and relax. Preferably you should sit or lie down, but slowly walking is also fine.

Guide your thoughts

Once you are in a relaxed position and your environment is silent, your thoughts might automatically jump around. Give your thoughts some order and work with questions to yourself to guide the process of reflecting, e.g. what have I learned today?

We have also prepared a segment that focusses on the importance of writing. A great tool for self-reflection is writing a learning diary.
