What are the specifics of preparing narrated slides?

The first thing to remember is that the presentation consists of a form and a content.

Of course, the content in the presentation will determine what you want to say with this work.  Are there any specific things, which are essential for the content of a narrated presentation?

  • The traditional presentation operates with visual and textual information and takes place in a live demonstration. Your skillas moderatorcan help improve the information displayed, and this way each presentation is unique. You can change the accents and correct them to adapt them for any future presentations. You can even correct mistakes on-site during the presentation.
  • When designing narrated presentation, remember that the main focus will be on what you are saying. Contrary to the traditional presentation, in a narrated presentation you will no longer be able to correct mistakes or adapt accents to each different audience. Each error you make will be seen in an unknown number of viewings of the presentation. You will not be able to control the attention of different audiences on-site. This means that special attention should be paid to the content of the narrated presentation.
  • The form of the narrative presentation is specific to itself and it largely depends of the way of creating such a presentation.

You will not find any full detailed guide here, but the video (Video No 2. The sample instruction for creation of a narrated presentation) that you can find below provides some general guidelines. This video is also an example of how to create a narrative recording with an application that uses speech software with natural voices to read text, and then adding this audio file to the prepared presentation.
