A

Audio visual materials

AVM are "materials using sight or sound to present information"         (www.freethesaurus.com)

Audio Visual Resources are those materials which do not depend solely upon reading to convey meaning and present information through the sense of hearing as in audio resources or through a combination of both senses vision and hearing.

Dike (1993)

Materials displayed by visual projection or magnification or through sound reproduction, or both, including graphic materials, audio materials, motion pictures, video materials, and special visual materials such as cartographic and three-dimensional materials.

Blended learning

Blended learning is an education program (formal or non-formal) that combines online digital media with traditional classroom methods. It requires the physical presence of both teacher and student, with some element of student control over time, place, path, or pace.



BYOD

Bring your own device (BYOD)—also called bring your own technology (BYOT), bring your own phone (BYOP), and bring your own Personal Computer (BYOPC)—refers to the policy of permitting employees to bring personally owned devices (laptops, tablets, and smart phones) to their workplace, and to use those devices to access privileged company information and applications.[1] The phenomenon is commonly referred to as IT consumerization.

Dual education

dual education system combines apprenticeships in a company and vocational education at a vocational school in one course. 


Dysgraphia

A disorder which primarily expresses itself through difficulties with writing or typing, but in some cases through difficulties associated with eye–hand coordination and direction or sequence-oriented processes such as tying knots or carrying out repetitive tasks


Dyslexia

Dyslexia, also known as reading disorder, is characterized by trouble with reading despite normal intelligence

Flipped classroom

Flipped classroom is an instructional strategy and a type of blended learning that reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content, often online, outside of the classroom. It moves activities, including those that may have traditionally been considered homework, into the classroom. In a flipped classroom, students watch online lectures, collaborate in online discussions, or carry out research at home and engage in concepts in the classroom with the guidance of a mentor.

Hybrid learning

Hybrid learning often is used as synonyms meaning a blended learning. However, there is a some distinction. In hybrid learning, a significant part of the course takes place online. That way a hybrid learning can replaces much of the student-teacher “face-to-face time” in a brick-and-mortar location with online interaction.

Instructional media

Instructional media includes all the materials and substantial resources that an educator might use to implement instruction and facilitate students' achievement of instructional objectives.


Interactive video

Interactive video transforms a traditional viewing experience from a monologue into a dialogue. An interactive video incorporates a wide variety of interactive elements directly into the video itself, including hot spots, questions, calculations, lead generation and more. Any video can be made interactive, customized with almost limitless interaction.
