Augmented Reality

An enhanced version of reality where live direct or indirect views of physical real-world environments are augmented with superimposed computer-generated images over a user's view of the real-world, thus enhancing one's current perception of reality.

Blended Learning

Any teaching concept that combines online digital components with face-to-face sessions. The combination of those two elements should be arranged in a way that the advantages of each are interlocked.

“The term blended learning is generally applied to the practice of using both online and in-person learning experiences when teaching students. In a blended-learning course, for example, students might attend a class taught by a teacher in a traditional classroom setting, while also independently completing online components of the course outside of the classroom. In this case, in-class time may be either replaced or supplemented by online learning experiences, and students would learn about the same topics online as they do in class…”

CBT

"CBT" stands for Computer-Based Training and is a modern way of learning. Before the extensive use of the internet for e-learning, computers have been used for education purposes. A well-known subset which has been established within this process is the WBT (Web-Based Training).

The quality of being competent; possession of required skill, knowledge, qualification, or capacity.

Creative thinking is the ability to think in different directions and look at situations from different perspectives.

Flipped Classroom

The concept of the "Flipped Classroom" is a form of Blended Learning

Generally, it reverses the traditional form of teaching in a classroom. At home, the students can learn the fundamentals of a subject through prepared materials of the teacher. In the class time, the teacher is not lecturing the students but is working together with them on mastering the subject through collaborative learning exercises.

Skill

The ability, coming from one's knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc. to do something well.


T

Tutor

  • A person employed to instruct another in some branch or branches of learning, especially a private instructor.
  • A teacher of academic rank lower than an instructor in some American universities and colleges.
  • A teacher without institutional connection who assists students in preparing for examinations.



W

WBT

"WBT" stands for Web-Based Training and refers to "online course" or "Web-based instruction" that offers material on the internet, applying ICT tools. Commonly WBT is being seen as a subset of Computer-Based Training (CBT).
